
Nicholas Lynch
Nicholas lynch was born in Christchurch and attended St. Andrews college where he was the recipient of a full 5 year Music Scholarship. He is an accomplished pianist and clarinettist and completed Grade 8 Royal Schools examinations on both instruments. He attended Canterbury University and graduated with a Music Degree in 2008. He was awarded the Dr. J.C. Bradshaw prize for the most outstanding student in MUSI 315 (Twentieth-Century Music Textures).
In 2009 he was awarded a College of Arts Honours Scholarship. Nicholas also holds a Diploma in Audio Engineering and has worked extensively throughout the country as a freelance Front of House Audio Engineer. He has worked for Shipley’s Audio Visual as an A.V. technician and at A.M.I. stadium as a Television Match Official in charge of broadcasting feeds. He has twice been commissioned to compose music scores for Classics Professor Robin Bonds’ productions of Aeschylus’ Prometheus Bound and Aristophanes’ The Wasps.
Nicholas is a regular participant in the Auckland and Australasian Electro acoustic Music Symposiums and has a deep interest in Acousmatic composition particularly Ambisonic Multi-channel Sound Diffusion as an aesthetic art form.
Looking to expand his horizons, Nicholas has developed a strong interest in Local Government and is currently researching the housing affordability crisis that exists throughout New Zealand.
